PRESS RELEASE: FOUR INDUSTRIES WHERE GRAPHENE HAS BECOME A TECHNOLOGICAL REVOLUTION

This material offers a range of advantages that can enhance efficiency and sustainability across various industries.

February 2024. Graphene, a revolutionary material with unique properties, is transforming the way we interact with the world around us. From the textile industry to automotive and construction, graphene applications are driving significant innovations and paving the way for a more sustainable future.

To better understand how graphene is impacting different sectors, we spoke with Juan Manuel Goenaga, an Entrepreneur in Technology and Advanced Materials.

Textile Industry:

In the textile field, graphene is revolutionizing manufacturing processes and garment design. "The incorporation of graphene into fabrics can improve the energy efficiency of textile production, reducing water and energy consumption," explains Goenaga. Additionally, graphene enables the development of smart and sustainable clothing that adapts to environmental conditions, reducing the need for heating or air conditioning.

Automotive Industry:

In the automotive sector, graphene offers the possibility of manufacturing lighter and more efficient vehicles. "The integration of graphene composite materials can reduce the weight of vehicles, improving fuel efficiency and reducing CO2 emissions," states Goenaga. Moreover, graphene is used in high-performance batteries for electric vehicles, increasing their range and reducing charging times.

Construction Industry:

In the construction field, graphene is used to produce stronger and lighter materials. "This can reduce the carbon footprint of buildings and generate savings in construction material costs," notes Goenaga. Additionally, graphene is employed in coatings and paints to enhance the thermal insulation of buildings and in integrated solar panels for efficient renewable energy generation.

Steel Industry:

In steel production, graphene is used to improve production processes and develop lighter and stronger materials. "This reduces the energy required for production and transportation, as well as the need for frequent maintenance and replacement," highlights Goenaga.

Graphene is not just a promise for the future; it is a tangible reality that is transforming our relationship with the environment and paving the way towards a more sustainable future. In Colombia, this technological advance has marked a significant milestone with the agreement for the distribution of graphene technologies from the United Kingdom, led by Versarien PLC. This collaboration, negotiated by the technology and sportswear brand Go to Gym Sportswear as a Service, led by Juan Manuel Goenaga, aims to propel Colombian society into a new era of technology and advanced materials.

"This graphene technology is a unique opportunity for Colombian companies to adopt stronger environmental, ecological, and economic sustainability strategies," comments Goenaga. With the support of initiatives like this, Colombia is poised to lead the way towards a more innovative and sustainable future.
